About This Role

Duke Health is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Rounding Nurse to join our team. As a Behavioral Health Rounding Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing support and education to nursing staff to optimize care for patients with a wide variety of behavioral needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and education to nursing staff to optimize care for patients with behavioral needs
  • Respond to consultation requests from nursing staff through a Behavioral Health Nurse consult order
  • Lead Behavioral Emergency Responses and offer spontaneous education and support during rounding
  • Recommend Interdisciplinary Behavioral Rounds for optimizing care on specific patients with behavioral needs
  • Complete suicide screening and restraint audits, as well as provide restraints education
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited BSN program
  • Current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina
  • BLS certification
  • Knowledge of scope of the registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, and NCA
  • Ability to assess nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their families
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, physicians, administrators, leadership, and others
