Experienced Field Service Technician

Raymond West is seeking a highly skilled Experienced Field Service Technician to join our Service team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing all makes of material handling equipment at customer locations. Prior mechanical work experience is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Service, troubleshoot, and repair all makes of material handling equipment at customer locations
Update training and skills on a continuing basis
Train other employees as needed
Maintain a profitable billing level
Follow all Service Department procedures
Communicate with assigned Field Supervisor
Complete all paperwork transactions in a timely, neat, accurate and orderly fashion
Communicate all options to customers before proceeding with work
Have the necessary tools to perform repair and scheduled service work
Complete jobs within quoted time limits when applicable
Maintain a clean and orderly (inside and outside) vehicle
Maintain an accurate assigned parts inventory, if applicable
Represent the entire company at all times
Pass Raymond Certification and re-certification if applicable
Maintain good working knowledge of customers and equipment in assigned areas
Maintain an acceptable driving record as established by the company's insurance carrier
Report accidents whether self or customer
Account for 100% of available time during working hours
Must be willing to work overtime when necessary
Must coordinate all overtime with assigned supervisor
Must follow all procedures in the company's Employee Handbook
Must follow safety procedures and use good judgment in regard to safety
Must be willing to work out of town as necessary
Establish a positive rapport with customers
Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by the Service Supervisors or Managers
Requirements:
High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent
2+ years prior mechanical experience in the material handling or large equipment industry preferred
4+ years prior experience in advanced mechanical repairs in the automotive or diesel industry required
Familiarity and ownership of hand tools is required
Knowledge of internal combustion engines is helpful, but not required
Travel Requirements:
This position will be based in the field and require daily travel within assigned territories. Technicians will be provided a company vehicle and a company Fuel Card to pay for vehicle expenses. Must be able to be insured by Raymond West.
Physical Requirements:
This position is non-Sedentary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Position will be required to go onto job sites to perform duties where construction is underway. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Position requires the employee to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to smell. Position requires the employee to climb/balance/stoop/kneel/crouch and crawl. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.
