Position Overview

We are jointly seeking a visionary researcher and educator to join our team at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) at Fort Worth. The successful candidate will possess exceptional expertise in various aspects of visual sciences, encompassing a broad spectrum of specializations, such as cornea, neuroscience, retinal cell biology, the development of the visual system, and research into degenerative diseases affecting the visual apparatus.

Job Description

As a visionary researcher and educator, you will be responsible for advancing an already established, high-quality record of peer-reviewed publications in vision-focused research. You will also participate in departmental committees, maintain a safe work environment, and collaborate with colleagues within and outside the School of Biomedical Sciences. Additionally, you will seek extramural support to support high-quality research, supervise students, postdoctoral trainees, and technical staff undertaking research projects, and participate in UNTHSC-wide, as well as local, national, and international, service activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Neuroscience, or an allied life sciences discipline, and a minimum of 4 years of postdoctoral experience. You will also need to have knowledge of, or the ability to learn, University policies and procedures, provide support for student development with a demonstrable concern for students, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Benefits

The University of North Texas System offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, as well as a range of benefits, including retirement eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package. The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
