Position: Logistics Coordinator

Job Overview:

As a result of ongoing growth, Forward's Carrier Management division is in search of a Logistics Coordinator. This role is essential for self-driven individuals who will effectively manage the punctual service performance and administration of our Pickup and Delivery (P&D) vendor network. The Logistics Coordinator is tasked with ensuring that shipments are collected and delivered punctually while maintaining accurate data entry. Additionally, this position addresses issues that arise before, during, and after service, evaluating whether extra costs are warranted and consulting with customers as necessary. Collaboration with Forward's sales and operations teams is vital for achieving complete resolutions. The Logistics Coordinator will also liaise with terminal staff and management to rectify delays related to the transition between the vendor and Forward's terminal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate with integrity, prioritizing safety and service
  • Ensure daily performance metrics of Forward's P&D vendors align with company standards
  • Guarantee vendor and terminal accountability in meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
    • Punctual service performance
    • Proof-of-service data submission within 30 minutes post-service
    • Visibility of Proof-of-Delivery images to customers by the next morning
    • Systematic vendor invoicing in accordance with contractual guidelines
    • Assess accessorial charges with proper judgment and documentation
    • Oversee P&D assignments to minimize claims
    • Maintain professional communication
    • Utilize basic math, typing, and computer skills across various software applications
    • Conduct initial searches for lost freight
    • Employ effective organizational and multitasking skills in a dynamic environment
    • Contribute positively to a team culture of collaboration, proactivity, urgency, and ownership
    • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Interest and aptitude in Logistics, Transportation, Customer Service, and/or Leadership
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Capacity to foster positive and effective work relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-discipline and reliability
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications including Excel, 365, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Consistent attendance
