Student Account Specialist

The Student Account Specialist plays a vital role in SAE Institute's business operations, shaping the student experience and serving as the primary contact between students and the Student Accounts team. This full-time, on-campus position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Negotiate payment plans and resolve account discrepancies through direct communication with students and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and track private loan balances, identifying potential problem accounts and taking proactive steps to resolve issues.
- Assist schools with AR management, ensuring timely recovery of payments and maintaining accurate accounts receivable levels.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, credit memos, and duplicate payments.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations to resolve complex disputed receivable issues.
- Communicate account status and progress to stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Prepare weekly balance reports to monitor cash flow and identify areas for improvement.
- High School Diploma or Associate's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in collections, preferably in an education environment.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and MacBook proficiency.
- Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence, effectively communicating complex data to stakeholders.
- Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Continuous improvement mindset, seeking ways to simplify and improve work processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices.
