Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver fundamental personal care services including monitoring and recording vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, as well as managing food and fluid intake and output; assist with non-sterile dressing changes and provide massages.
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene and facilitate their travel to bathing facilities.
  • Support residents in performing range-of-motion exercises and help them move to wheelchairs or activity areas.
  • Observe client behavior and notify relevant healthcare personnel of any crises or concerns.
  • Execute and document safe, therapeutic, and effective care as instructed by nursing staff.
  • Respond to signals or intercoms to assess residents' needs and utilize appropriate communication methods for patients with hearing or speech impairments.
  • Address the psychological, social, spiritual, and cultural needs of residents.
  • Participate in staff training sessions, meetings, and development activities.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid Nursing Assistant certification from the state of California or an equivalent qualification.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one (1) year of experience in nursing, CNA, or HHA services within a large residential care facility in the past two (2) years is highly preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, planning, evaluation, monitoring, patient and family education, and documentation in compliance with Title 22 requirements.
  • Completion of TB testing, fingerprinting, First Aid, CPR, and other mandatory state or federal requirements upon hiring.
  • Ability to perform general nursing procedures as needed.
  • Capability to safely lift and/or move patients when necessary.
  • Exhibit service-oriented behaviors in all interactions with patients, team members, physicians, and visitors, demonstrating cultural sensitivity, respect, and polite communication.
  • Proficient in reading and writing, with the ability to interpret written instructions and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Utilize sound judgment and available information to resolve issues.
  • Adaptable and able to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Strong commitment to the mission and goals of Richmond Area Multi-Services in providing community-based, culturally competent, and consumer-guided mental health services.
  • Engagement in professional development activities such as training, continuing education seminars, case conferences, and reviewing current materials related to treatment strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse, multi-cultural, and interdisciplinary team.
