Certified Nursing Assistant Position

Annual Sign-On Bonus: $1,500.00. Work Schedule: 40 hours per week.
Location: On-site within the Health Services Department.
Candidate Requirements:
- Current resume
- CNA certification or diploma
- CPR certification (front & back)
Work Schedule: Shifts are available Monday through Sunday, typically from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., including holidays, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Total hours will not exceed 40 per week.
Qualifications:
- US Citizenship
- Completion of an accredited Medical Nursing Assistant Program is preferred.
- Current CPR certification in accordance with recognized standards.
- Knowledge of Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) principles and Basic Life Support.
- A minimum of two years of experience in certified nursing assistant services.
- Bilingual communication skills and clinical experience are advantageous.
- Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, assisting with wound care, and supporting patients with daily activities.
- Phlebotomy services in the Short Stay Unit (SSU) may be required.
- Inventory management and restocking of medical supplies.
- Documentation and patient record management in the Bureau Electronic Medical Records System (BEMR).
- Assisting with housekeeping and other assigned tasks.
- Ensuring safety protocols within the Health Services Unit.
- Providing bedside care and assistance with daily living activities.
- Executing delegated patient care tasks under the supervision of Registered Nurses.
- Collaborating with clinical staff to deliver comprehensive nursing care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Registered Nurses in delivering patient care for medical/surgical inmates in the SSU.
- Rotate shifts as necessary to meet the operational needs of the unit.
- Utilize proper body mechanics when assisting patients.
- Assist with respiratory care, meals, and monitoring intake and output.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and nursing practices.
- Monitor and report changes in patient conditions to nursing staff.
- Prepare patient care areas by ensuring necessary supplies are available.
- Engage with patients and assist in their transportation as needed.
- Adhere to confidentiality guidelines regarding patient information.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in patient care areas.
