Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Donation Attendant to join our team at The Salvation Army in South San Francisco. As a key member of our thrift store team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our donation center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and organized donation area, including the trailer and surrounding space.
  • Assist donors in the receipt of donated items and provide excellent customer service.
  • Sort and separate donated materials into designated containers and stack them properly.
  • Collaborate with TSA PA/Drivers to load donations onto trucks as needed.
  • Inform supervisors of needed items before they run out.
  • Secure and lock the donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift.
  • Be available for flexible scheduling and adapt to changing priorities.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and donors.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand written and verbal instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or customer service role.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects up to 75lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks.
