Job Title: Donation Attendant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Donation Attendant to join our team at The Salvation Army in San Bernardino. As a key member of our donation processing team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our donation center.

Job Summary:

The Donation Attendant will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized donation area, assisting donors with the receipt of donated items, and separating and sorting donations into the proper containers. This is a full-time position that requires flexibility and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean and organized donation area, including the trailer/pod and surrounding areas
  • Assist donors with the receipt of donated items and provide excellent customer service
  • Separate and sort donations into the proper containers, and properly stack materials as instructed by the supervisor
  • Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary
  • Inform the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (e.g. brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.)
  • Secure and lock the donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift
Requirements:
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors
  • Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects up to 75lbs. with or without assistance
  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
