Position Overview:
Winter Park is seeking a dedicated Slope Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the grooming operations and ensure the highest quality of snow surface preparation. This role is essential for maintaining the standards of our ski resort, providing an exceptional experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Grooming Manager to develop a nightly slope maintenance strategy
  • Adapt to changing snow management objectives throughout the season
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections of snowcats and related equipment
  • Facilitate nightly team meetings and assign tasks effectively
  • Lead the team in executing the nightly maintenance plan
  • Ensure trails are maintained to the highest standards
  • Proactively address slope maintenance concerns, such as thin spots and lift areas
  • Anticipate future slope maintenance requirements and special course constructions
  • Complete assigned snowcat projects as needed
  • Safely fuel equipment and perform post-operational checks
  • Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage
  • Communicate equipment issues to mechanics
  • Ensure cleanliness of work and shop areas
  • Provide training and development opportunities for snowcat operators
  • Offer constructive feedback to team members throughout the season
  • Regularly update the Grooming Manager on team performance
  • Conduct annual evaluations of direct reports
  • Perform additional duties as required
Qualifications:
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license
  • Minimum of 3 years of snowcat operation experience
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with others
  • Knowledge of slope maintenance techniques and objectives
  • Advanced grooming skills
  • Experience with winch cats is preferred
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment is advantageous
  • Understanding of Winter Park's trail system is a plus
  • Ability to ski or ride is preferred
  • Reliable transportation for varied work hours
  • Punctuality and adherence to assigned schedules
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • First aid training is preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Capable of lifting and moving up to 60 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity for operating hand tools
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with guests and team members
