Transportation Design Manager

About the Role:

Jacobs is seeking a highly experienced Design Manager to lead our Transportation Team in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a key leader on a multi-billion dollar Design for Design Build Project, you will be responsible for the reconstruction and widening of a complex interchange that includes over 35 bridges, 25 retaining walls, and coordination with numerous stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support, develop, and manage scopes of service and the delivery of quality transportation projects on-time, within budget, and ensuring the satisfaction of the client's goals and needs are met.
  • Act as a liaison between disciplines and serve as a single point of contact.
  • Develop and maintain a design discipline plan for expectations of project delivery, client communications/coordination, management, and staffing/resource coordination.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with design build transportation projects.
  • Substantial progressive experience with large Highway/Bridge design projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) in Ohio, or the ability to obtain Ohio license within 6 months.
  • Previous leadership experience and comfortable mentoring junior and mid-level staff.
  • Previous experience in a client-facing role and the ability to serve as a liaison between Jacobs and the client.
  • Strong business acumen and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Local to Cincinnati, Ohio, or willing to relocate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA).
  • DBIA Certification.
  • Previous experience working with Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).
