Position Summary
The Site Superintendent plays a crucial role in overseeing the scheduling, monitoring, and management of site personnel, equipment, and subcontractors to meet project objectives within the defined scope of work. This position collaborates closely with the Project Manager to implement the project plan effectively, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. The Site Superintendent is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship while adhering to safety protocols as outlined in Schneider Electric's safety policy.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Site Safety Management
    Ensure that all personnel and subcontractors are well-versed in and comply with Schneider Electric's safety practices. This includes:
    • Organizing safety meetings and job box discussions.
    • Reviewing job hazard analyses prior to the commencement of work.
    • Ensuring proper personal protective equipment is utilized for all tasks.
    • Securing the project site after each shift, ensuring all tools and equipment are accounted for.
  2. Subcontractor Oversight
    Manage all aspects of subcontractor work and personnel, including:
    • Organizing and maintaining project quality assurance documentation.
    • Overseeing the quality of all work disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and more.
    • Monitoring and controlling plans, specifications, and submittals for assigned scopes of work.
  3. Project Management Execution
    Implement the Project Management Plan as directed by the Project Manager, which involves:
    • Reviewing and laying out project tasks and collaborating with customers on scheduling.
    • Managing the project timeline effectively.
    • Coordinating access requirements with customers to facilitate project execution.
    • Communicating with the project team regarding requests for information and material submittals.
    • Providing weekly project status updates to the Project Manager.
  4. Coordination Meetings
    Participate in project coordination meetings with customers and subcontractors, providing:
    • Status updates on completed work.
    • Scheduling and coordination for upcoming tasks.
    • Meeting minutes and documentation for all attendees.
    • Coordination of required inspections with relevant authorities.
  5. Risk Management
    Identify and manage project risks and issues proactively, ensuring:
    • Immediate communication of any concerns to the Project Manager for mitigation.
    • Documentation of all risks and issues in the Project Management Information System.
    • Maintenance of records for project material submittals and approvals.
Scope of Work
The Site Superintendent will manage medium to large-sized projects with moderate to advanced complexity, overseeing multiple scopes of work simultaneously.

Additional Responsibilities
May include:
  • Building and maintaining relationships with inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives.
  • Implementing cost-effective project management strategies in the field.
  • Participating in customer training related to scopes of work.
  • Conducting field audits and performance assurance of installed systems.
Qualifications
Education: A 2-year college degree or technical degree is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in construction management is preferred, demonstrating independent responsibility and high confidence in the field.
Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in project management and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to project sites.
  • Good understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, and control systems.
  • Ability to interpret HVAC and electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong mathematical skills and the ability to follow project plans and specifications.
  • Dedication to customer service and team success.
Physical Demands:
The role requires the ability to navigate rough terrain, engage in physical activities such as bending and lifting, and transport equipment as necessary.

Work Environment:
While primarily office-based, the role involves significant time spent on project sites, which may include exposure to varying weather conditions and mechanical environments.
