Job Title: Research Data Compliance Manager

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a highly skilled Research Data Compliance Manager to join our Scientific Computing and Data team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for data access, usage, and sharing to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with Mount Sinai's departments for compliance, privacy, legal, research, IRB, digital and technology partners to ensure policies are aligned with federal and state laws, Mount Sinai corporate policies, and industry privacy standards.
  • Identify and lead the development or revision of policies and procedures pertaining to data access, usage, and sharing.
  • Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to patient privacy and data sharing compliance.
  • Design and implement programs to foster awareness and adherence to compliance policies and processes.
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop data use agreements (DUAs) and accompanying compliance processes for different types of end users.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in a technical discipline; PhD or legal degree preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in the healthcare and biomedical research environment.
  • Ten+ years of experience in developing and/or supporting technology/data management efforts at an academic medical center.
  • Demonstrated experience completing projects and creating policies and processes.
  • Excellent communicator for general, healthcare, and technical matters with strong writing and presentation skills.
