Position Overview:

Role Summary:
The Room Attendant is tasked with maintaining the cleanliness of guest rooms and facilities as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor, Assistant Director of Housekeeping, and Director of Housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to payroll and key sign-out protocols.
- Clean mirrors, furniture, ash urns, elevators, and doors.
- Manage and uphold the cleanliness of all linen closets and dispose of trash.

- Collaborate effectively with team members by establishing and following a defined cleaning schedule to enhance efficiency.

- Follow guidance and training provided by supervisors. Be open to feedback and adaptable to changes.
- Ensure all lost and found items are reported to a supervisor or the Director of Housekeeping.
- Spot clean furniture and carpets as directed.

- At the beginning of each shift, obtain work reports from supervisors and prepare the cart with necessary supplies for the day's tasks.

- Assist in moving beds and furniture as needed.
- Provide assistance to guests when requested.
- Report any maintenance issues to housekeeping.
- Follow the cleaning priority instructions from the Housekeeping supervisor:

1) Prioritize cleaning O/C rooms. 2) Prepare due-in rooms for check-in. 3) Clean C/O rooms. 4) Ensure all occupied rooms are cleaned by 5 PM.
- Ensure all bathrooms and beds are thoroughly cleaned in each room.
- Vacuum all rooms daily.
- If no horsepersons are available, sweep patios, wipe down patio furniture, front doors, and light fixtures. Dust all light bulbs in rooms with a dry cloth.
- Clean all mirrors and mop tiled floors.

- If any rooms are found occupied or in use and not listed on reports, notify the supervisor immediately.

- Always be available to assist colleagues if you complete your assigned tasks early.
- Clean the cart at the end of the day and restock for the following day.
- Utilize and maintain all equipment and supplies properly.
- Respond appropriately in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
- Complete any projects assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Housekeeping.

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using a combination of skills and abilities.

- Previous hotel experience is preferred.
- Must comply with occupational safety and health practices, including wearing personal protective equipment when necessary.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, and kneel continuously to meet the demands of quality guest service.
- Ability to stand and/or walk continuously to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to push, pull, or lift heavy loads weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push and/or pull heavy furniture weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, or wet).
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and anticipate guest needs.
- Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform job duties and responsibilities.
