The Room Attendant is accountable for maintaining the cleanliness of guest rooms and facilities, executing tasks as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor, Assistant Director of Housekeeping, and Director of Housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to payroll and key sign-out protocols.
- Clean mirrors, furniture, ash urns, elevators, and doors.
- Manage inventory and ensure the cleanliness of all linen closets while disposing of trash.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues by establishing and following a clear cleaning schedule to enhance efficiency.
- Follow instructions and training provided by supervisors, demonstrating cooperation and receptiveness to feedback.- Report all lost and found items to a supervisor or the Director of Housekeeping.
- Spot clean furniture and carpets as directed.
- At the beginning of each workday, obtain work reports from supervisors and prepare the cart with necessary supplies for cleaning tasks.
- Assist in moving beds and furniture as required.- Provide assistance to guests when requested.
- Report any maintenance issues to housekeeping.
- Follow cleaning priorities as instructed by the Housekeeping Supervisor, such as:
1) Prioritize cleaning O/C rooms.
2) Prepare due-in rooms for check-in.
3) Clean C/O rooms.
4) Ensure all occupied rooms are cleaned by 5 PM.
- Ensure all bathrooms and beds are thoroughly cleaned in guest rooms.
- Vacuum all rooms daily.
- If no horsepersons are available, sweep patios, wipe down patio furniture, front doors, and light fixtures. Dust all light bulbs in guest rooms.
- Clean mirrors and mop tiled floors.
- Immediately report any occupied or in-use rooms not listed on reports to a supervisor.
- Be available to assist other employees if you complete your section ahead of schedule.- Clean the cart after finishing for the day and restock for the next day.
- Utilize and maintain all equipment and supplies properly.
- Respond appropriately to any hotel emergency or safety situation.
- Complete any projects assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Housekeeping.
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using a combination of skills and abilities.
- Prior hotel experience is preferred.- Must comply with occupational safety and health practices, including wearing personal protective equipment when necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, and kneel continuously to meet the demands of quality guest service.
- Ability to stand and/or walk continuously to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to push, pull, or lift heavy loads weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push and/or pull heavy furniture weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, whether hot, cold, or wet.
- Hearing and visual acuity to observe and anticipate guest needs.
- Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to fulfill job duties and responsibilities.
