Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Preschool Teacher to join our team at the JCC East Bay. As a key member of our early childhood education program, you will play a critical role in creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that supports the learning and growth of our preschool community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Planning: Develop and implement inquiry-based curriculum that promotes the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth of children. Submit lesson plans in advance and collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and engaging learning experience.
  • Classroom Safety: Establish and maintain a well-organized, safe, and healthy environment for children. Ensure adequate staffing ratios, complete accurate reports, and maintain a clean and tidy classroom.
  • Support and Communication: Observe and assess children's developmental needs, share observations with families, and provide additional support as needed. Serve as a role model and facilitate collaboration among teachers, and establish positive communication with parents.
  • General: Participate in team meetings, parent orientations, and community events. Meet with the Program Director to discuss classroom and team needs, and commit to ongoing professional development and mentoring less experienced teachers.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in an ECE setting and 12 or more completed ECE units.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of current research and practices in early childhood education.
  • Proficient in various skill areas, including planning, scheduling, record keeping, and classroom management.
  • Ability to work with teams, communicate with parents, and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Benefits
