Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales and Marketing Professional to join our team at Paylocity. As a Sales and Marketing Professional, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and revenue expansion. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about sales, marketing, and building strong relationships with clients.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for prospecting, developing, and closing new sales agreements for companies with up to 50 employees. A strong predictor of success for this role is someone who incorporates a consultative approach to their sales technique, has exceptional prospecting skills, and has the ability to execute a consistent sales process.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
  • Determining prospective customers' needs for HR technology
  • Presenting Paylocity's tech stack to meet those needs in a specific geographic market
  • Preparing and presenting proposals and providing timely follow-up throughout the sales process
  • Completing and obtaining documentation required for the conversion of data from the company's previous payroll provider to the Paylocity system
  • Working cross-functionally to ensure the client has a smooth transition to Paylocity
  • Using initiative to develop prospects through telemarketing, referrals, professional and personal contacts, and other sources
  • Building relationships with CPA's and maintaining existing CPA relationships
  • Attending Paylocity-sponsored trade shows, conferences, and other events to promote Paylocity services
  • Meeting or exceeding monthly and annual sales quota for your territory


Requirements & Indicators for Success in the Role:

A successful Small Business Account Manager will have the following qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience in a sales position
  • Ability and willingness to travel within assigned territory and meet prospects in person
  • Ability to succeed in a competitive environment
  • Ability to maintain high activity standards
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills required in order to handle objections and unexpected situations that may arise throughout the sales cycle
  • Customer service orientation
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and the Internet
