Senior Manager, Sales Tax Operations

This is a senior-level position within the Indirect Tax team at Walmart, responsible for leading the sales tax operations function. The successful candidate will have a strong background in tax compliance, with experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Sales Tax Operations Function: Oversee the day-to-day activities of the sales tax operations team, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Develop and Implement Process Improvements: Identify areas for improvement and develop and implement process changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with other departments, such as finance and IT, to ensure seamless integration of tax operations with other business functions.
- Provide Technical Guidance: Offer technical expertise and guidance to team members on tax compliance and process improvements.
- Develop and Manage Budgets: Create and manage budgets for the sales tax operations function, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure that all tax-related activities are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: 6+ years of experience in indirect tax, preferably with exposure to retail or big 4 firms.
- Leadership Experience: 3+ years of experience in a leadership position, with a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations, with experience in managing tax compliance and process improvements.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
