Litigation Support Specialist

Job Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Clerical Responsibilities: Provide administrative assistance to multiple attorneys within the General Civil Unit of the Trial Section. Responsibilities include prioritizing assignments from attorneys, composing and revising legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, and correspondence, and preparing documents for filing through various methods. Additional tasks involve drafting letters for attorney signatures, conducting thorough proofreading, and ensuring quality control on all deliverables. The candidate will also manage incoming mail, oversee the initiation and conclusion of cases in the office's case management system, and perform other administrative duties related to trial practice.
- Paralegal Responsibilities: Organize and maintain electronic files for all discovery materials, upload documents to shared platforms, and track litigation deadlines. The candidate will communicate with clients, experts, and opposing parties, conduct fact-gathering interviews, draft memoranda, affidavits, and assist in trial preparation. Responsibilities also include preparing trial exhibits, coordinating witness schedules, and managing subpoenas.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Handle travel arrangements and process related documentation, coordinate meeting spaces, and provide backup support to other units within the Trial Section. The candidate will also be responsible for electronic filing in various courts as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of three to five years of experience in a litigation environment.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, court processes, and document management systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting and adapt to changing priorities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with proficient time management abilities.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to interact positively with a diverse workforce and the public.
- A valid driver's license is required, and candidates will undergo a criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or paralegal certification is preferred, though equivalent experience may be considered.
- Proficiency in personal computer usage, particularly with Microsoft Word and legal research tools, is preferred.
