Job Summary:

This role is responsible for coordinating and supervising all production process methods and engineering activities to drive quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing engineering and a strong understanding of Lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement systems and procedures to enhance manufacturing production while promoting safety and quality guidelines
  • Conduct studies to determine cause and effect and implement corrective measures to remedy deviations
  • Assess production processes to identify improvement opportunities and implement Lean concepts
  • Partner with design engineering groups to ensure effective communication of new product introductions and changes
  • Manage capital equipment projects, including equipment improvements and procurement
  • Ensure all equipment meets OSHA compliant safety regulations
  • Assume responsibility for plant and site layout and drive engineering principles through mentoring and training
  • Improve shop floor productivity and drive controllable spending reduction
  • Develop and implement recommendations for improving efficiency and profitability
  • Manage machine, gauging, tooling, and equipment procurement processes
  • Develop and improve manufacturing standards, including machine capability, process maps, and quality control
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience in manufacturing engineering
  • Ability to quickly assess manufacturing issues related to design and tolerancing
  • Working knowledge of computers, including MS Word, Excel, AutoCad, and ProE
  • Understanding of factory metrics and Lean principles, with Six Sigma experience a plus
  • Awareness and understanding of company quality standards, capital equipment, procurement, FMEA, APQP, and ISO 14001
  • Understanding of MIG/TIG/SAW/SMAW welding practices and ASME codes and standards
  • Ability to utilize engineering principles to develop robust manufacturing processes
  • Fluent knowledge of manufacturing engineering and quality control
Education:
  • BS degree in Engineering, preferably Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical
