Job Summary

The Senior Process Engineer at Jobs - PTS Advance is responsible for applying principles, knowledge, and practices of process engineering to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-efficient plant operations. This includes identifying, analyzing, and resolving process-related issues, as well as utilizing current and new industry developments to improve plant performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement plant/process monitoring and optimization systems to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.

Provide process engineering assistance/support to the Operations Team as required, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective problem-solving.

Conduct evaluations on assigned and self-initiated tasks, identifying and analyzing abnormal and less efficient plant parameters, and recommending actions to address them.

Participate in and lead incident investigation teams to troubleshoot and determine the root cause of plant issues/problems, ensuring timely resolution and implementation of corrective actions.

Develop and mentor the Process Engineering team, providing guidance and support to ensure their growth and development.

Review and recommend changes to the plant 'cause and effect matrix' to improve plant reliability and protect plant assets, ensuring a proactive approach to risk management.

Develop plant modifications for projects within all degrees of complexity, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.

Understand and comply with the Management of Change (MOC) process, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.

Participate in and lead 'What Ifs' and HAZOP studies to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies, ensuring a safe and reliable operating environment.

Apply basic project management skills, including cost and schedule tracking, to ensure successful project delivery and timely completion.

Stay up-to-date with state-of-the-art developments/technologies applicable to the methanol industry, applying this knowledge to improve plant performance and efficiency.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering required.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in Engineering required, with a strong background in process engineering and plant operations.

Operating plant experience as a process engineer, with a proven track record of improving plant performance and efficiency.

Experience working in syn gas/petrochemical/methanol/ammonia plants, with a strong understanding of high pressure steam system headers and energy management.

Knowledge of process controls and advanced controls initiative- APC, as well as exposure to process simulation.

Strong engineering and technology skills, with the ability to apply principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to design and produce various goods and services.

Excellent production and processing knowledge, with the ability to maximize the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Strong project management skills, with the ability to apply cost and schedule tracking to ensure successful project delivery and timely completion.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments and technologies.
