Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and execution of aircraft ground and flight operations.
  • Ensure effective management and successful implementation of mission sensor elements, including connectivity for dissemination.
  • Facilitate software, ground, and flight training within designated areas of expertise.
  • Manage all aspects of aircraft and flight operations, including pre-mission planning, vehicle and ground station preparations, vehicle start-up and checks, launch procedures, in-flight management, emergency handling, and troubleshooting in-flight issues.
  • Provide expert knowledge in ground and flight testing, operational procedures, and maintenance protocols.
  • Conduct formal training sessions, workshops, seminars, and in-flight instruction under the guidance of a certified instructor pilot.
  • Engage in additional training programs to maintain peak pilot proficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance system knowledge within the operational community.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in the UAS sector with AVO experience on a Piccolo Based Platform or equivalent UAS preferred.
  • Possession of a Private Pilot License (PPL) and Instrument Rating (IFR) is mandatory.
  • A Commercial Pilot License (CPL) is preferred.
  • Current ACTIVE Secret security clearance is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a solid understanding of UAS flight systems and operations, particularly in large-scale developmental projects.
  • At least 100+ flight hours on UAS platforms as Pilot in Command (PIC).
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Office Suite applications, including spreadsheets and collaboration tools, as well as proficiency in manipulating Adobe forms.
  • Must hold a current FAA Class 2 medical certificate.
  • Valid U.S. Passport is necessary.
  • Experience with OCONUS deployments is advantageous.
  • While not mandatory, willingness to undertake OCONUS deployments in support of the program may be requested.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
