Position: Shift Leader at Dave's Hot Chicken

Summary:
The Shift Leader plays a crucial role in overseeing all restaurant operations during their shift. This position requires collaboration with the management team to ensure that all activities align with the restaurant's strategic objectives. The Shift Leader is responsible for guiding Team Members to fulfill their roles effectively and meet performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:
The Shift Leader is tasked with supervising staff, monitoring their work, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety regulations, and assigning tasks appropriately. Key duties include:

  • Implementing the DHC Training Program to acquire and impart new skills and responsibilities.
  • Reporting to supervisors when additional training is required.
  • Conducting operational assessments and quality checks to identify areas for improvement.
  • Managing shift schedules and tracking attendance.
  • Delegating responsibilities based on individual roles and competencies.
  • Understanding the impact of each role on customer experience and overall operations.
  • Engaging with guests, taking orders, and serving food and beverages with a positive demeanor.
  • Ensuring teamwork among staff to prepare menu items while adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
  • Utilizing kitchen equipment effectively and safely.
  • Overseeing daily cleanliness and sanitation tasks.
  • Addressing guest concerns and complaints in a professional manner.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance by following uniform guidelines.
  • Providing feedback and direction to Team Members to foster productivity and morale.
  • Communicating performance issues to management as necessary.
  • Training new and existing staff on operational tasks.
  • Handling cash management duties as assigned.
  • Upholding company policies and directives at all times.

Expectations:
The Shift Leader is expected to perform leadership and organizational tasks to ensure efficient operations during their shift. Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and executing daily operational routines.
  • Completing administrative duties and necessary paperwork.
  • Supervising opening and closing procedures as directed.
  • Fostering an environment of trust and open communication.
  • Setting a positive example for the team in all business practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and cost control measures.
  • Supporting management decisions and directives.
  • Contributing to the restaurant's success by consistently meeting performance expectations.
  • Resolving interpersonal issues among team members as needed.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum age of 18 and fluency in English required.
- Certification in all operational stations through the DHC Training Program.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Strong communication skills with both coworkers and management.

Transportation & Accessibility:
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required.
- Must have a reliable method of communication with supervisors and team members.

Work Hours:
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Skills & Abilities:
- Strong delegation and time management skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
- Strong guest service orientation.
- Ability to proactively identify and solve problems.
- Physical capability to lift 50-75 lbs. and work in close quarters.
