Position: Shift Leader at Dave's Hot Chicken

Summary:
The Shift Leader holds a crucial role in overseeing all restaurant operations during their shift. This position collaborates closely with the management team to ensure that all activities align with the restaurant's strategic objectives. The Shift Leader is tasked with ensuring that all Team Members fulfill their job duties and meet performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:
The Shift Leader is responsible for supervising team members, monitoring their performance, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety regulations, and appropriately delegating tasks. Specific duties include:

  • Participating in the DHC Training Program to acquire and teach new skills and responsibilities.
  • Communicating with supervisors regarding the need for additional training and support.
  • Conducting operational walks and quality checks to identify areas for improvement.
  • Organizing shift schedules and monitoring attendance and punctuality.
  • Assigning tasks based on individual roles and competencies.
  • Understanding the impact of each job role on guest experience and overall operations.
  • Greeting guests, taking orders, and serving food and beverages with a positive demeanor.
  • Ensuring team collaboration in food preparation while adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
  • Overseeing daily cleanliness tasks, including table clearing and kitchen sanitation.
  • Addressing guest concerns and complaints in a professional manner.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance by following the uniform policy.
  • Providing constructive feedback to team members to enhance productivity and morale.
  • Training new and existing team members on operational tasks.
  • Managing cash drawers and preparing deposits as directed.
  • Upholding company policies and directives.

Expectations:
The Shift Leader is expected to perform leadership and organizational tasks to ensure efficient team operations during their shift. Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and implementing daily operational routines.
  • Completing administrative duties and required paperwork.
  • Supervising opening and closing procedures as instructed.
  • Fostering an environment of trust and open communication.
  • Setting a positive example for the team in all business practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and cost control measures.
  • Contributing to the restaurant's success by consistently meeting performance expectations.
  • Resolving interpersonal issues among team members as necessary.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum age of 18 and fluency in English required.
- Certification in all stations as per the DHC Training Program.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Strong communication skills with team members and management.

Transportation & Accessibility:
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are necessary.
- Must have a reliable method of communication with supervisors and team members.

Work Hours:
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Skills & Abilities:
- Strong delegation and time management skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
- Strong guest service skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in close quarters and lift up to 75 lbs.
