About the Role

The Aerospace Corporation is a leading provider of technical expertise and innovative solutions to the nation's space programs. As a Trajectory Optimization Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of advanced aerospace systems and ensuring the success of complex space missions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide trajectory optimization and analysis support for a variety of vehicle types and domains, including launch vehicles, missiles, spacecraft, and hypersonic vehicles.
  • Develop and implement advanced numerical methods and optimization techniques to solve complex flight mechanics and astrodynamics problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop innovative solutions for aerospace systems and missions.
  • Conduct research and analysis to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in flight mechanics, optimization, and astrodynamics.
  • Communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in aeronautical, astronautical engineering, physics, or applied mathematics, or related disciplines.
  • 2 years of experience in flight mechanics, maneuver optimization, hypersonic vehicle modeling, or trajectory modeling and simulation, particularly to non-traditional orbit regimes.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including C, C++, Fortran, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Working knowledge of optimization theory and advanced numerical methods.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in aeronautical, astronautical engineering, physics, or applied mathematics, or related disciplines.
  • 8 years of experience in flight mechanics, maneuver optimization, hypersonic vehicle modeling, or trajectory modeling and simulation, particularly to non-traditional orbit regimes.
  • Graduate-level coursework, research, and/or experience in orbit mechanics, hypersonic flight simulation, optimal control, flight mechanics, and trajectory modeling and simulation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS//SSBI (SCI) clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
