The Senior Mechanical Engineer will serve as a key resource for the Mechanical Engineering program team, driving the mechanical development of data center storage systems, including hard drives, solid-state drives, cooling fans, power supplies, and high-speed electronic interfaces. Given the intricate relationships among these systems, the ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive mechanical engineering background, including expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and the ability to design for specific shock and vibration criteria.
Additional responsibilities include:

- Developing and executing test plans to validate design integrity.
- Mentoring junior engineers and fostering their professional growth.
The successful candidate will leverage their strong analytical skills and innovative thinking to influence packaging design and utilize engineering change management systems for formal design releases. They will also conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of product development experience in computing, storage, or related fields.
- Proficient in CAD systems, particularly SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) is advantageous.
- Experience in structural, vibrational, thermal, and acoustic modeling is preferred.
- Knowledge of test instrumentation such as accelerometers and thermal test equipment is essential.
- Proven ability in creative problem-solving and innovation.
