Key Responsibilities- Greet patients and families with a warm and welcoming demeanor, providing efficient support services to ensure a positive experience.
- Utilize EPIC software to perform patient check-in, check-out, demographic and insurance information collection, and daily eligibility verifications.
- Answer and triage phone calls, verify contact information, and document messages in a timely and professional manner.
- Schedule appointments, inform families of delays, and address or escalate complaints in a respectful and empathetic manner.
- Collect and process payments, reimbursements, and insurance referrals with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Provide updates during shifts and team meetings, maintaining open communication with colleagues and supervisors.
- Maintain patient records while adhering to HIPAA guidelines, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
- Perform administrative tasks, including mail, faxes, photocopies, and other duties as assigned.
- Rotate shifts, if necessary, to ensure 24/7 coverage in units where required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of experience in a healthcare support role, preferably in registration, physician billing, medical records, or customer service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
