Cardiologist Specializing in Advanced Heart Failure

Baylor Scott & White Health - North Texas is seeking a skilled cardiologist with expertise in advanced heart failure and transplantation to enhance our dedicated team of four advanced heart failure specialists and three advanced practice providers. Our institution is a prominent academic cardiovascular facility and part of the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas, which encompasses 47 hospitals and over 6,600 physicians.
The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano stands as the largest cardiovascular center in Texas and ranks among the top five nationally in cardiac surgery volume. Our facility boasts a comprehensive cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship program, offering sub-fellowships in heart failure, structural, interventional, and electrophysiology. Recognized for excellence, our hospital is nationally ranked in five critical areas of cardiac surgery and cardiovascular care, including heart failure management.
As our program continues to expand, we are looking for a dedicated partner to contribute to our dynamic environment. The responsibilities of this position include:
- Teaching general cardiology fellows and heart failure fellows.
- Managing patients in our heart failure and subspecialty clinics.
- Providing inpatient consultation services, including shock management and cardiac critical care.
- Engaging in research opportunities at both local and national levels.
- Evaluating and managing pre and post-surgical care for LVAD patients.
- Leading the shock team and overseeing temporary mechanical support devices such as ECMO, IABP, Protek, and Impella.
Our heart failure team collaborates closely with an affiliated transplant center for the evaluation of potential transplant candidates and works in conjunction with our busy structural heart disease program. All hospital and clinic operations are integrated on the Epic platform, ensuring comprehensive collaboration in heart failure care.
Applicants should possess board certification or eligibility in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant. While prior research experience is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite. We value a team-oriented approach and encourage participation in local outreach initiatives.
