Our facility is recognized as a premier academic cardiovascular institution, featuring a collaborative environment with four advanced heart failure cardiologists and three advanced practice providers.
As part of the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas, our organization encompasses a vast network, including 47 hospitals and over 6,600 physicians. Our cardiovascular center is distinguished as the largest in the state and ranks among the top five nationally based on cardiac surgery volume.
The successful candidate will engage in various responsibilities, including:
- Teaching and mentoring general cardiology fellows and heart failure fellows.
- Managing patient care in our heart failure and subspecialty clinics.
- Providing inpatient consulting services, focusing on shock management and cardiac critical care.
- Leading the shock team and overseeing temporary mechanical support devices such as ECMO, IABP, Protek, and Impella.
Our program offers extensive opportunities for research and collaboration at both local and national levels. The heart failure service collaborates closely with our structural heart disease program and an affiliated transplant center, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
Applicants should possess board certification or eligibility in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant. While prior research experience is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite. We value a team-oriented approach and encourage participation in community outreach initiatives.
