Summary of the Position:

The Technical Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food processing and packaging equipment. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • 40% Operation of packaging and/or processing equipment in a line operator position.
  • 40% Troubleshoots and repairs processing and automated high-speed packaging equipment, systems, and related machinery panels.
  • 15% Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment. Utilizes hand and power tools to facilitate work.
  • 5% Other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Continually responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices, allergen/sanitation controls, food defense, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements.
  • Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
  • Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
  • Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.
  • Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.
  • Responsible to comply with all safety policies and procedures established for health and workplace safety.
  • Responsible to support safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors, reporting potential hazards, and conducting safety observations.

Qualifications:

Education, Experience, and Knowledge:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five plus years of experience in repair, maintenance and troubleshooting preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting processing equipment and/or complex automated high-speed equipment.
