Job TitleFire Alarm Lead (FAL)
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Lead to join our team at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in Washington. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining fire alarm systems at NGA facilities and grounds.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and maintain fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- Supervise and advise technicians on troubleshooting and resolving fire alarm system malfunctions.
- Ensure all preventive maintenance and repairs are performed in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards.
- Support the overall management of fire alarm systems to ensure capability is in balance with known and/or future demand requirements.
- Oversee the timely application of government and local regulations, codes, standards, policies, and procedures related to NGA fire alarm systems operations and management.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients and stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial business relationships.
- Recommend ways to improve the fire alarm systems operations and services delivery process to ensure high-quality goods and services are delivered on time and within cost.
- Keep accurate documentation and perform analysis of activities and processes to improve contract performance.
- Current Top Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
- National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Fire Alarm Systems Level II Certification.
- At least 7 years of proven experience in testing, commissioning, and repairing fire alarm systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in applicable NFPA code compliance, documenting changes, and implementing new system functionality.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in operating systems to enable proper monitoring and functionality of newly installed equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with reading and understanding blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
- Strong technical knowledge of facilities maintenance and operations, including complex electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and associated control systems.
- Highly developed leadership, management, supervisory, interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills, including managing personnel across multiple shifts.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in a diverse and dynamic environment with short-notice taskings and under high-pressure situations.
- Demonstrated personnel management experience with both organic and subcontractor staff.
- Demonstrated experience working with labor unions and/or managing service employees working under the Service Contract Act.
- Valid Driver's License Required.
- Knowledge and experience with the ARCHIBUS Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is highly desired.
