Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled High Voltage Electrician to join our team at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in Washington. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert-level support for high-voltage electrical systems, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 24/7 support for electrical systems at NGA facilities and grounds.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and components, adhering to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to operations.
- Support capacity management of electrical systems to ensure capability is in balance with known and/or future demand requirements.
- Ensure compliance with government and local regulations, codes, standards, policies, and procedures related to NGA electrical systems operations and management.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers to achieve mutually beneficial business outcomes.
- Recommend improvements to the electrical systems operations and services delivery process to ensure high-quality goods and services are delivered on time and within budget.
- Monitor electrical subcontractors and provide reports as needed.
- Support capacity management of electrical systems to ensure capability is in balance with known and/or future demand requirements.
- Ensure electrical system modifications comply with all code requirements and original design intent for NGA Washington.
- Maintain accurate documentation and perform analysis of activities and processes to improve contract performance.
Qualifications:
- Current Top Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
- Must possess and maintain a Journeyman Electrician License or higher.
- Possess and be current in the following certifications:
- National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Electrical Power Testing Level II Certification.
- National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace Certification.
- OSHA ten hour and 30-hour Construction Safety Certification.
- American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level I Infrared Thermography Certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with:
- Square D Equipment such as P24 Switch Gear, VR MV Breakers, and Master Pack Breakers.
- ASCO transfer switches.
- Reading and understanding blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
- Practical knowledge and understanding of Electrical Switchgear.
- Practical knowledge and understanding of Building Electrical Systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of all facilities maintenance and operations, including complex electrical and associated control systems.
- Highly developed leadership, management, supervisory, interpersonal, analytical, and communication (oral and written) skills.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in a diverse and dynamic environment with short notice taskings and under high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge and experience with the ARCHIBUS Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is highly desired.
