Quality Assurance Leader - Manufacturing Sector

Position Overview:

We are in search of a candidate with exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities. The ideal individual will possess a robust background in manufacturing, enabling them to serve as a technical authority on inspection processes and the analysis of various manufacturing methodologies. A requisite level of technical knowledge in manufacturing and inspection techniques is essential to effectively engage with and earn the respect of colleagues within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a precision manufacturing setting that employs an ISO-compliant quality framework.
  • 8-10 years of experience in leadership or management roles.
  • Familiarity with CAD software is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all functions of the Inspection Department, ensuring proficiency in the following areas (while inspectors may handle much of the work, you should also be capable):
  • Assess parts against specifications using appropriate measurement tools.
  • Develop or modify CMM programs and create fixtures as necessary.
  • Conduct incoming inspections on raw materials, including castings.
  • Execute "First Piece", Daily AQL, and Final Inspections on a variety of components.
  • Engage with operators regarding any discrepancies.
  • Screen parts as needed.
  • Maintain accurate manual and digital records as required.
  • Perform Capability Studies as necessary.
  • Continuously enhance the skills of your team through training and mentorship.
  • Address HR-related matters that may arise within your quality team.
  • Evaluate eligibility for employee raises.
  • Participate in the recruitment process for new personnel.
  • Lead the MRB board to resolve part issues via the Discrepant Material Report system.
  • Act as the management representative for Quality during quarterly management meetings.
  • Interpret customer specifications and resolve discrepancies among various perspectives.
  • Serve as a liaison for customers on Quality-related matters.
  • Develop inspection plans and capability studies in collaboration with customers as required.
  • Provide various inspection data or study results to customers as necessary.
  • Supervise and engage in the ongoing enhancement of procedures and documentation.
  • Define, develop, and manage the continuous update of quality documentation and methods.
  • Conduct Contract Reviews to verify order requirements for gage needs and documentation.
  • Assist the front office in collaborating with customers to establish requirements and costs for gaging, special inspections, and capability studies.
  • Oversee the Calibration System and Tool Management.
  • Manage external calibration vendors and supervise internal calibration processes.
  • Ensure all company and employee tools are calibrated appropriately.
  • Guarantee the organization has the necessary tools to operate at peak efficiency.
  • Promote a quality-centric culture throughout the organization.
  • Foster a respectful environment among all employees.
