Maintenance Technician

Taylor Shellfish Farms is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Shelton, Washington. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic, repairs, and maintenance work on company vessels, machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company assets, including vessels, machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
- Report any vehicles and/or equipment in need of repairs to the Maintenance Manager.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory concerns.
- May be required to work at other work sites/locations as needed, including out of town or state.
- May be required to perform other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Must possess and maintain a valid Washington driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience with diesel and gasoline engine repair.
- Experience with hydraulics and electric controls.
- Experience with marine and heavy equipment.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, standard operating procedures, schematics, and measuring tapes.
- Must supply personal tools.
- Availability to work days, nights, weekends, on call, and travel as needed.
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance required.
- Ability to work independently at times with little direction.
- Strong and sound decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Well-organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to use a computer well enough for the job.
Education and Experience:
- Must be 21 years or older.
- 8 years minimum of applicable experience preferred.
- Formal training from an accredited technical college or trade school or completion of an equivalent multi-year apprenticeship program preferred.
- CDL preferred but not required.
- Must complete and maintain in-house forklift, tractor, first aid, safety, and H.R. trainings.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk on uneven ground up to 16 hours per day.
- The employee is required to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, and squat 100% of the time.
- The employee needs to be able to lift up to 75 lbs. (Occasionally required to exert up to 125 lbs. of force).
- The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to speak and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
- Must be able to use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
- Must have agility and balance to safely climb on machines, boats, etc.
- Must be able to drive up to 11 hours per day to multiple locations.
