Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Revenue Staff Accountant to join our team at The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. This role will be responsible for account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial data analysis to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret large and complex financial data sets to support revenue recognition journal entries.
  2. Journal Entries: Accurately and promptly record financial transactions in our accounting system.
  3. Account Reconciliations: Reconcile accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, and deferred revenue.
  4. Financial Support: Provide accounting support to colleagues across various departments and organizational levels.
  5. Revenue Recognition Compliance: Ensure revenue recognition follows appropriate accounting principles, standards, and timelines.
  6. Issue Resolution: Proactively identify, research, and resolve complex and unusual accounting issues.
  7. Policy Development: Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures related to accounting and financial operations.
  8. Audit Support: Prepare schedules and work papers for external and internal auditors.
  9. Special Projects: Assist the Revenue Manager with special projects and provide ad-hoc reports as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Three to five years of accounts receivable experience
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Preferred: Associates or Bachelor's degree in accounting, one to two years of audit experience, and hands-on experience in NetSuite

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts, apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to carry out instructions, problem-solve in situations involving several variables.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of accounting software and Excel spreadsheets required.

Work Environment

This position will require work in our Headquarters office in Lake Mary, FL 50% of the time.
