Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and directing teams of electricians. This role includes assigning duties, providing training, ensuring quality standards, enforcing safety protocols, conducting inspections, and addressing technical challenges. A solid background and extensive experience in the electrical field are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage, coordinate, and schedule the work of electricians, carpenters, laborers, and operators, directing both underground and surface electrical teams while providing daily task instructions to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to confirm adherence to safety regulations and specifications, promptly reporting any safety hazards.
  • Interpret specifications such as blueprints to ascertain construction requirements and plan procedures, including material estimation and ordering, as well as evaluating and assigning personnel for specific tasks.
  • Collaborate with management, technical staff, other departments, and contractors to troubleshoot issues and synchronize activities.
  • Document personnel, production, and operational data on designated forms and reports.
  • Create sketches or follow blueprints to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures, ensuring compliance with job specifications and local codes using hand and power tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent in commercial projects with budgets ranging from $500K to over $10 million.
  • Strong initiative and organizational skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across various professional levels. Proficient communication skills in written and spoken English; bilingual or some knowledge of Spanish is preferred.
  • Proven ability to foster positive business relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • High standards of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to evaluate information for compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Willingness to travel and work at various Aireko office locations as needed.
  • Experience with MS Project and Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
