About the Role

As a Wind Technician II at ENGIE, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our wind generation assets. This is a field-based position that requires regular travel to client sites, and you will be responsible for operating and maintaining wind turbines, substations, and other site equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, reconnect, and inspect electrical equipment, including substations and overall site performance.
  • Collaborate with service providers and contractors to oversee daily work activities and coordinate with local utilities and Independent System Operators (ISOs) for switching and curtailments.
  • Conduct inspections and recurring checks on site equipment to ensure compliance with ENGIE and regulatory agency standards.
  • Participate in behavior-based safety programs, enforce safety procedures, and conduct orientations and meetings to promote a safe working environment.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, coordinate contractor work, and maintain cleanliness on-site.
  • Provide recommendations for operational and maintenance improvements, offer equipment operation training, and utilize Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques to address failures.
  • Work on computerized work order systems for purchase requisitions and receiving statuses.
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience and knowledge of Wind generation, Power Plant, or Substation Maintenance.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification as substation technician within twelve (12) months of hire date.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant.
  • Willingness to comply with ENGIE's policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing.
  • Willingness to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.
Working Conditions

50% work indoors and 50% work outdoors depending on site needs. Outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions. Could involve some lifting / up to 50lbs with assistance.
