Crisis Services Casework Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crisis Services Casework Supervisor to join our team at the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). As a key member of our social services team, you will be responsible for directing, overseeing, and reviewing the work and activities of a unit of Caseworkers and Community Response Workers who operate a 24/7 Crisis Prevention/Intervention system that supports adults with intellectual disabilities, autism, and brain injuries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, direct, and monitor crisis prevention and intervention service activities.
  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with public and private stakeholders.
  • Assure that services are provided in accordance with statutes, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Participate in community work groups, committees, and boards to promote agency goals, objectives, and services.
  • Review and compare work performance/productivity of subordinate staff on a regular basis within established standards.
  • Provide feedback to subordinate staff to improve performance/productivity, efficiency, and provide opportunities for growth.
  • Engage in review and approval of behavior management and safety plans as needed.
  • Provide public guardianship decision-making coverage, after hours on a rotating basis.
  • Provide oversight of admission and discharge activity for the state-operated crisis house.
  • Work with colleagues to utilize crisis resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and trainings to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Eight years of education and/or professional experience in social work, including at least two years' experience as a fully licensed social worker (LSW).
  • Three years of supervisory experience in the social services field.
  • Experience as an IDD Community Case Manager.
  • Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities (IDD), autism, or dual-diagnosed mental health/IDD autism, and brain injuries.
