The ideal candidate will be reliable, self-motivated, and exhibit outstanding communication and customer service abilities. Experience in scheduling surgeries is advantageous.Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients by answering phone calls, triaging inquiries, and scheduling appointments.
- Prepare the clinic environment to ensure that the provider has all necessary information for an efficient operation.
- Manage the clinic workflow effectively.
- Utilize customer service principles to interact with patients in a calm and pleasant manner.
- Confirm, cancel, reschedule, and update patient appointments as requested by patients or providers.
- Enter and maintain patient information, and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Follow up promptly on patient inquiries and requests.
- Address patient concerns with efficiency and effectiveness.
- Scan documents into patient records.
- Fax required paperwork as needed.
- Communicate and fulfill requests from other medical offices, including faxing patient medical records or other information as required.
Time Management:
The working hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with potential for extended hours on clinic days. While staying later is not mandatory, assistance may be requested until the provider has completed their schedule or the day's tasks are finished.
Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or GED certificate.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting is preferred. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and EMR systems is required.
Qualifications:
- Cooperative attitude towards colleagues, management, patients, visitors, and physicians.
- Ability to promote a positive image of the facility to physicians, patients, hospitals, and the general public.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to work effectively as part of a team with physicians and other staff.
- Appropriate interaction with patients, families, and others.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing demands.
- Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work late or through lunch on busy clinic days.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Varied activities including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, lifting, bending, and reaching.
Must utilize proper body mechanics when assisting patients with transfers and mobility. The ability to lift up to 30 pounds is necessary.
Occasional stress may arise from workload demands.- Proficiency in using various office equipment, including phones, copiers, writing instruments, PCs, and fax machines.
