If you are a PSCC Student and eligible for the Student Employment Program, you will be compensated based on experience with rates of $13.00 (no experience), $ months experience) and $ months experience).
Work Hours: 20 hours per week
Position Overview: The role involves managing the service desk, delivering customer support through a computer-based library system, and assisting with various library functions, including the circulation of materials, maintaining shelves, and overseeing copiers and printers.
Key Responsibilities:
80% Manage the service desk, facilitating the check-out and check-in of library materials while utilizing the circulation system. Address directional and general inquiries regarding library circulation processes and the college. Update patron information within the library system. Engage in all activities related to intercampus loans. Address inquiries concerning overdue and lost materials. Ensure the availability of necessary forms at the circulation desk. Clarify circulation policies to patrons and propose enhancements for circulation procedures. Open and close the library as required.
20% Organize and shelve library materials while assisting with shelf maintenance.

Required Qualifications:
A. High School diploma or equivalent.
B.
Experience in utilizing computers with a high level of comfort in navigating computer systems and web pages to provide customer service.
C. Flexibility in scheduling availability.(Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience)

Work Characteristics:
A. Basic understanding of library circulation activities, processes, and procedures is required.
B. Ability to foster a service-oriented attitude that encourages users to seek assistance.
C. Capability to provide assistance at the appropriate level in a non-judgmental manner.
D. Proficiency in coordinating activities and communicating needs in a friendly manner to a diverse group, including
students, faculty, supervisors, and other college personnel.
E. Ability to learn and articulate services and policies to users.
F. Competence in using equipment and software to complete circulation and maintenance tasks.
G. Physical ability to lift books and boxes, maneuver loaded book trucks, and shelve/move materials (involves bending and stretching).
H. Ability to interpret complex instructions.
I. Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
J. Capability to maintain, clean, and provide routine service for copiers, faxes, printers, and other equipment.
K. Ability to work independently in a dynamic and evolving environment.
L. Proficiency in typing/keyboard skills.
