Director of Major Gift Development

The Salvation Army Central Territory seeks a highly skilled and experienced Director of Major Gift Giving to play a key role in the success of our fund development efforts. This position is responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift donors to secure gifts of $5,000 and higher.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and manage a caseload of 150 assigned and qualified major donors and corporate accounts, with a focus on securing gifts of $5,000 and higher.
- Develop and implement personalized strategies to effectively steward, educate, cultivate, and solicit gifts from major donors and corporations.
- Work closely with the Divisional Development Department to develop donor profiles and inform "moves management" strategies.
- Collaborate with local TSA officers, program, finance, and fund-raising staff to present local resource development needs that correspond to donors' interests and intent.
- Support and contribute to overall territorial and divisional policies, business practices, and strategies to continually increase major gifts revenue and program growth.
- Bachelor's degree or comparable experience, plus a minimum of five years of experience in a non-profit fundraising role with a proven track record of major gifts success.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills, and the ability to access data systems via a web-based system.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, and the ability to maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters and maintain attention to detail.
This position requires the ability to work in an office environment and may occasionally require travel and attendance at events, conferences, and meetings outside of normal working hours.
