This position provides a unique chance to contribute to a mission that shapes the future of defense technology. Your efforts will help maintain OUSD(R&E)'s leadership in innovation while adeptly managing the complexities of congressional relations with professionalism and strategic acumen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing congressional workflow and task management systems, including the Congressional Hearings and Reporting Requirements Tracking System (CHARRTS), Office of Legislative Counsel (OLC) Web, Department of Defense Congressional Tracking System (DoDCTS), and CATMS database.
  • Delivering comprehensive administrative support, encompassing analysis, documentation, task management, briefing coordination, and managing specialized congressional workflows.
  • Facilitating legislative activities within OUSD(R&E) to ensure cohesive alignment across the organization.
  • Managing congressional reporting for OUSD(R&E) by analyzing legislative materials, coordinating tasks and workflows, resolving disputes, and collaborating with OSD(LA) and BAA.
  • Developing and maintaining workflow, reporting, and analytical documents, monitoring deadlines, and providing guidance.
  • Coordinating special inter-Department projects, collaborating with OSD(LA), OGC, and OLC on task groups and processes.
  • Compiling and refining reports for OUSD(R&E), managing teams, and strategizing to fulfill congressional requirements.
  • Evaluating inquiries and responses, managing correspondence, tracking follow-up actions, and offering document retrieval services.
  • Assembling information, maintaining files, and coordinating responses to inquiries from congressional and DoD staff.
  • Performing general administrative duties, including coordinating security clearances, processing badge requests, tracking FOIA requests, and assisting with parking arrangements for congressional visitors.
  • Responding to congressional inquiries, coordinating responses, and maintaining a database of inquiries and replies.
  • Documenting congressional reports and analyses, summarizing official program information in accordance with DoD or federal directives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in legislative systems management within the DoD.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, adaptability, initiative, and a proven ability to work effectively with Senior Executives.
  • An active DoD Secret Clearance or higher is mandatory for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing congressional briefings and direct interactions with congressional staff as a representative of the DoD.
  • Previous experience supporting an OSD principal (USD, ASD, DA SD).
