About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Affairs Specialist to join our team at the American Physical Therapy Association. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison to staff for general contracts information, ensuring smooth communication and timely resolution to their queries.
- Provide guidance and training on APTA's legal software to staff, as needed.
- Set up and maintain legal calendar for contracts, advising on renewals, updates, and other matters.
- Maintain agenda for legal team meetings and ensure effective collaboration among team members.
- Stay up-to-date with Association policies and procedures, providing expert advice and support as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred, with 3+ years' experience in a legal support role, preferably in a nonprofit association.
- Paralegal certificate, a plus.
- Strong knowledge of legal principles, concepts, and research methodology relevant to document production in a legal context.
- Must have contracts experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suites.
- Excellent communication and time management skills, with the ability to foster positive and collaborative relationships with staff.
