Position Overview:
Netspend Corporation is seeking a Senior Manager of Tax to oversee our dynamic Finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is pivotal in shaping and managing the company's tax strategy and compliance efforts. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in tax planning, compliance, and reporting, with a strong emphasis on transfer pricing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement comprehensive tax strategies and transfer pricing initiatives to optimize the company's global tax position while identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Lead tax planning efforts to effectively minimize the overall tax burden of the organization.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and international tax regulations.
  • Collaborate with external advisors to maintain and update transfer pricing documentation and policies, including the preparation of master files and local files.
  • Communicate tax strategies and planning insights to senior management to support informed decision-making.
  • Guide and mentor tax professionals, fostering professional growth and development within the team.
  • Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and industry trends to proactively address challenges and communicate potential impacts on the organization.
  • Work closely with Finance and Accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax-related matters.
  • Assist in external audits concerning tax issues.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance tax processes and systems for improved efficiency and accuracy.
  • Build and nurture relationships with external tax advisors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Promote a collaborative and high-performance culture within the tax department.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA certification is required, and a Master's in Taxation is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 12 years of progressive tax experience, including at least 10 years in a strategic leadership capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of domestic and international tax laws, including transfer pricing regulations; strong analytical skills to interpret complex tax legislation.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing strategic tax plans aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Ability to identify and manage tax-related risks while ensuring compliance and optimizing financial results.
  • Strong capacity to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex tax concepts effectively to various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a history of inspiring and guiding high-performing tax teams.
  • Experience collaborating across departments and working effectively with cross-functional teams across diverse geographies.
