About the Role

The Senior Director, Tax role is a critical position within the Controllership team, reporting to the Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer. This highly visible role requires a seasoned tax professional to drive the company's global tax strategy, including tax provision, tax planning, and tax compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of tax strategies that align with the company's business objectives.
  • Manage and mentor a team of tax professionals to ensure effective tax compliance and planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting, finance, and legal, to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors and tax authorities to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage the company's tax provision, including ASC 450 and related disclosures.
  • Lead the evolution of Roku's transfer pricing strategy and monitor transfer pricing policies and related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with US and international tax laws and regulations, US GAAP, SOX, and other domestic and international requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience, including 5+ years at a Director level working as part of a corporate tax department within a public technology company.
  • CPA license and Big4 experience preferred; Masters in Tax preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience building, managing, and motivating a high-performing team of tax professionals.
  • Effective communications skills, including the ability to synthesize complex tax issues and strategy and to communicate them in a clear and succinct manner to non-tax executive audiences.
