The Healthcare Compliance Senior Manager at Welltower is instrumental in guaranteeing compliance with regulatory mandates and industry benchmarks within the healthcare real estate domain. This role necessitates a profound comprehension of healthcare compliance, including data protection laws, outstanding communication capabilities, and the aptitude to work collaboratively with both internal and external parties to foster a culture of compliance and ethical conduct.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Formulate, execute, and uphold a thorough compliance strategy for the organization, leading the compliance division with an emphasis on corporate governance, healthcare regulatory adherence, and data privacy. Create, evaluate, and revise compliance policies and procedures to align with evolving regulatory standards and industry best practices. Ensure compliance protocols are upheld across all facets of company operations, including leasing, asset management, and investment functions. Supervise updates, dissemination, and communication of the Code of Conduct and Corporate Policies. Collaborate closely with Internal Audit in their auditing and monitoring initiatives to routinely assess policies and procedures, identifying and mitigating potential risks both internally and with external partners. Design and ensure the effective delivery of compliance training for new hires, employees, and business partners as required. Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure comprehension and adherence to compliance policies and procedures. Conduct and manage regular risk assessments to pinpoint vulnerabilities; devise and implement strategies to effectively mitigate risks. Provide periodic reports on activities and findings to senior leadership. Cultivate strong relationships with senior management and business partners throughout the organization. Continuously evaluate and enhance the efficacy of compliance programs and processes. Stay abreast of emerging compliance trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to drive ongoing improvement initiatives. Investigate and analyze current and proposed legislation that may affect the organization, offering practical solutions and actionable guidance to cross-functional teams. Remain informed about state and federal regulations by participating in conferences and engaging with work groups and industry associations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, law, finance, or a related discipline. An advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA) is preferred. Certified Compliance Professional (CCP), Healthcare Compliance Certification (HCCP), or other relevant certifications are preferred. A minimum of 7 years of experience in compliance, with a robust understanding of regulatory requirements within the healthcare real estate sector and demonstrated knowledge of applicable compliance and data privacy regulations. Proven ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders at all levels and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote compliance and privacy initiatives.
