Hyperbaric Safety Officer Assistant

Job Summary:
The Assistant Hyperbaric Safety Officer provides professional hyperbaric care to patients and families through planning and implementing patient care in conjunction with licensed staff. This role works together with unit leadership and Safety Officers to assess, implement, maintain, and document the hyperbaric safety program to ensure continued successful accreditation cycles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and trainings in support of the Hyperbaric Safety Program.
- Acts on behalf of the Hyperbaric Safety Officer when the officer is not available.
- Assists Hyperbaric Safety Officer with activities to support patients receiving hyperbaric treatment.
- Maintains operational records for all hyperbaric program equipment, troubleshoots equipment issues, removes chambers from service if unsafe, and assists in scheduling preventative maintenance & calibration.
- Assists/conducts hyperbaric safety in-service trainings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 3 years of hyperbaric related experience or Associate's degree and 5 years of hyperbaric related experience required.
- Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT) or Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (CHRN) certification required.
- Current CPR-BLS and CPR-ACLS certification required by time of appointment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Paramedic certification or other CHT qualifying pathway certification/license preferred.
- Hyperbaric Safety Officer training and experience preferred.
