Hyperbaric Safety Officer Assistant

The Assistant Hyperbaric Safety Officer plays a crucial role in providing professional hyperbaric care to patients and families. This position requires collaboration with unit leadership and Safety Officers to assess, implement, maintain, and document the hyperbaric safety program, ensuring successful accreditation cycles.
Key Responsibilities- Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and trainings in support of the Hyperbaric Safety Program.
- Acts on behalf of the Hyperbaric Safety Officer when the officer is not available.
- Assists Hyperbaric Safety Officer with activities to support patients receiving hyperbaric treatment.
- Maintains operational records for all hyperbaric program equipment, troubleshoots equipment issues, removes chambers from service if unsafe, and assists in scheduling preventative maintenance & calibration.
- Assist/conduct hyperbaric safety in-service trainings.
Bachelor's degree and 3 years of hyperbaric related experience or Associate's degree and 5 years of hyperbaric related experience required. Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT) or Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (CHRN) certification required. Current CPR-BLS and CPR-ACLS certification required by time of appointment. Excellent communication and organizational skills needed.
Preferred QualificationsCurrent Paramedic certification or other CHT qualifying pathway certification/license preferred: (i.e. Respiratory Therapist, Physician Assistant, Active Duty Military Corpsman, RN, LPN, NP, or Physician). Hyperbaric Safety Officer training and experience preferred.
