Job DescriptionAs a Technical Sales Applications Specialist at Bug-O Systems, a division of the Weld Tooling Corporation, you will play a crucial role in delivering product demonstrations, networking with clients, and providing training to staff. Your responsibilities will include conducting research, increasing your knowledge of technical products, and offering technical support to customers. To be successful in this position, you should demonstrate great active listening skills, patience, and confidence. Outstanding candidates are self-starters with superb creativity, networking abilities, research skills, and a good eye for opportunities.Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and give technical presentations to explain to customers how the products and services work.
  • Work with the customers, sales staff, distributors, and in-house engineering staff to ensure the equipment meets the customer requirements.
  • Communicate with the sales team to understand consumer demands and offer technical support where necessary.
  • Establish customer rapport and acceptance.
  • Review and analyze customer-supplied data (prints, specifications, sketches) to provide the best product suggestions.
  • Plan and oversee modifications to products to meet consumer demands.
  • Help clients to solve problems with product usage.
  • Create Solid Model concepts to support end-user understanding and sales of standard products.
  • Create Solid Model drawings to determine application-specific data to include, but not limited to, system reach, access, shape, etc.
  • Recommend new and improved products to the customers and explain how the equipment will be more cost-effective.
  • Plan, schedule, perform, and oversee assistance to field and in-house sales force regarding training, demonstrations, and applications.
  • Conduct training of sales force and/or end-users on standard, new, or specialized products or on welding-specific needs.
  • Perform demonstrations requiring additional product or welding expertise of new or unique products or applications both in-house and in the field.
  • Test equipment in development and provide feedback from an end-user, real applications point of view.
  • Provide technical assistance and input during trade shows, including preparation, setup at site, and tear down of display.
  • Set up machines and/or systems for demonstrations for distributors or end-users.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Requirements
  • Highly customer-oriented.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally (occasional).
  • Experience and knowledge of welding processes and equipment.
  • Highly motivated, quick learning, creative, and quality-conscious.
  • Highly adaptive in product demonstration environments.
  • The ability to evaluate, select, and apply welding techniques, industry procedures, and analysis using sound judgment in making decisions.
  • Able to lift 60 lbs.
  • Able to access most industrial and field welding and cutting environments.
