Position Overview

The Service Shop Foreman is a key leadership position, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service department. This role requires an individual with strong management skills, a passion for workforce optimization, and a focus on delivering outstanding customer service. You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of workmanship, ensuring workflow efficiency, and contributing to the overall success of the dealership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a team of service technicians to ensure top performance and maximum productivity.
  • Manage and coordinate workflow to optimize shop capacity, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Monitor and ensure that all repairs are completed to dealership standards and meet customer expectations.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the service department and customers, ensuring all concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Drive customer satisfaction by maintaining open communication, setting clear expectations, and ensuring timely updates throughout the service process.
  • Train, mentor, and develop staff, ensuring all team members are up to date with the latest technology and techniques.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement strategies for continuous improvement within the shop.
  • Oversee parts procurement and ensure proper inventory management to prevent downtime.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and dealership policies.
Qualifications
  • Proven leadership experience in a dealership service department or similar automotive repair environment.
  • Strong understanding of service shop management, including workflow optimization and scheduling.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a track record of improving customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and support technicians in troubleshooting.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Driven and results-oriented; able to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in service management software and other dealership tools is a plus.
